Dr. Miller is a Professor in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia. He pursued his undergraduate Occupational Therapy program at the University of British Columbia, followed by his MSc. and PhD at the University of Western Ontario and his Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of British Columbia. He currently directs UBC’s Rehabilitation Science Graduate Program.

Dr. Miller’s research interests include the creation, use and evaluation of assistive technology (e.g./wheeled mobility devices, eHealth and digital education) designed to help individuals with mobility challenges (e.g./ individuals with lower limb amputation, spinal cord injury, and stroke) do the things they want to do.

Dr. Miller also provides research mentorship to both professional entry-level MSc and PhD students. He is also involved with the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as an Editorial Board Member and regular reviewer for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
